Akwesasne Mohawk Artist with Ties to Marvel Comics Displays at SUNY Canton
An author and illustrator with writing credits for the Marvel Comics Universe's Mohawk character, Kahhori, is displaying artwork at SUNY Canton.
Arihhonni (Honni) David, a Native American children’s book author and illustrator from Akwesasne, felt a connection to Kahhori due to their shared clan and nation.
She’s our same clan, from the same nation, and she speaks Mohawk.
David's fan-created digital art of Kahhori gained traction online. An artist’s reception will be held at 7 p.m. on the 16th in the Southworth Library building, free and open to the public.
