Binghamton Man Pleads Guilty to Attempted Kidnapping

A Binghamton man, Donald Beetlestone, 37, pleaded guilty to attempted kidnapping after an incident in August.

Beetlestone attempted to abduct an 8-year-old girl from the Price Chopper on Glenwood Avenue in Binghamton, assaulting the child and dragging her through the store.

The attack was interrupted by a shopper and a store employee, who subdued Beetlestone and restrained him until police officers arrived.

Beetlestone will receive a sentence of 10 years in state prison, followed by 10 years of post-release supervision, and will be required to register as a sex offender upon his release.
