A hero policeman, who was first on the scene of PC Andrew Harper's death, has fought off armed raiders at his home.
PC Andrew Kemp jumped into action when burglars targeted his home while his wife and children slept inside. A court heard that the officer burst from his back door in Newbury and confronted the masked trio, giving chase as they fled.

PC Kemp was previously recognized for his life-saving efforts when PC Harper was killed in the line of duty in 2019. He had been responding to a burglary and suffered catastrophic injuries when his ankles became caught in a strap on a vehicle being driven by teenagers.
The heroic officer was first on the scene, giving him first aid, and has been deeply affected by the death of his colleague.
