Taconic volleyball continued their quest for a state tournament berth with a home sweep of Monument Mountain on Monday night.
The Thunder won the sets 25-9, 25-15, 25-22, with Ella Stodden contributing 26 assists. This follows their sweep of Pittsfield on Friday, where Stodden earned her 1,000th assist.
"Tonight's win was so important as we fight for the right to play in the state tournament," wrote coach Lancy Fyfe.
Coach Fyfe emphasized the importance of winning at least two more times, with upcoming matches against Southwick and in the Western Mass. tournament. The team's ability to maintain the right state of mind will be crucial in achieving this goal.
Taconic's Fernanda DeSiquiera played a key role in the team's success, spiking the ball onto the Pittsfield defense on Friday night.
