Kamala Harris on whether Israel committed genocide: ‘We should all step back and ask this question’ - Jewish Telegraphic Agency

Kamala Harris on Israel's Actions in Gaza

Former Vice President Kamala Harris has faced protests from pro-Palestinian groups during her book tour.

In an interview on MSNBC's "The Weekend," correspondent Eugene Daniels asked Harris if she agreed that Israel's actions in Gaza constituted a "genocide."

"Listen, it is a term of law that a court will decide,"

Harris replied, adding that the number of children and innocent civilians killed, as well as the refusal to provide aid and support, warranted a closer examination of the situation.

"we should all step back and ask this question and be honest about it, yeah."

Several lawmakers, including Senators Bernie Sanders and Representative from Georgia, have also weighed in on the issue.

Author's summary: Kamala Harris avoids labeling Israel's actions as genocide.
