Severe storms and floods in central and southeastern Mexico have resulted in at least 41 deaths and 27 people missing, according to authorities.
Around 10,000 soldiers have been deployed to assist in the affected areas, utilizing boats, helicopters, and excavators to clear roads, rescue stranded residents, and deliver food to affected communities.
Many villages remain cut off, and aid workers are struggling to reach them. Meteorologists warn of further rainfall in the coming days, increasing the risk of additional landslides due to saturated soil.
The hardest-hit areas are in the eastern and central states of Veracruz, Hidalgo, Puebla, Querétaro, and San Luis Potosí.
