DeKALB, Ill. — The Northern Illinois University football team will conclude its 2025 regular season by hosting Kent State on Friday, November 28, at Huskie Stadium. The game marks the final matchup before postseason play begins and a chance for NIU to finish strong in front of its home fans.
Head coach Thomas Hammock emphasized the importance of consistency and energy heading into the final week of action, noting the team's desire to build momentum into the off-season.
“We’ve put in a full season of work, and now it’s about finishing the right way,” Hammock said. “Our players have shown growth every week, and now we get one more opportunity to compete together at home.”
The Huskies, led by quarterback Ethan Hampton and running back Antario Brown, will look to execute on both sides of the ball against a Kent State squad seeking its first conference win. The NIU defense, anchored by linebacker CJ Brown and defensive lineman Pierce Okonji, aims to contain Kent State’s passing game and maintain control at the line of scrimmage.
NIU’s offense continues to emphasize balance between the run and pass, which has been key in recent Mid-American Conference victories. The home finale also serves as Senior Day, honoring graduating players for their contributions to the program.
Kickoff is scheduled for 11 a.m. CT, with the game broadcast on ESPN+ and the Huskie Sports Radio Network.
Tickets and additional game-day details are available at NIUHuskies.com.
