The Journalists' Association (Towarzystwo Dziennikarskie, TD) has appealed to Poland’s Prime Minister, Donald Tusk, to ensure stable and guaranteed financial support for public media institutions.
“Public media plays a vital role in democracy by providing reliable information and diverse perspectives,” the association emphasized. “Sufficient funding is essential to maintain editorial independence and high journalistic standards.”
Currently, the financing of public broadcasters faces uncertainty, which the association warns could undermine media quality and pluralism in Poland.
The Journalists' Association's advocacy highlights ongoing concerns about media independence and the need for reforms to secure the public’s access to trustworthy news.
This call reflects the essential role of dependable public funding to preserve the editorial integrity and democratic function of public media in Poland.
