Jeffrey Epstein’s Emails Referencing President Trump
Newly obtained emails reveal that Jeffrey Epstein, the late convicted sex offender, mentioned his connection with President Donald Trump both before Trump’s presidency and leading up to the 2020 election. These emails were released by the House Oversight Committee on Wednesday.
The documents include correspondence between Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell, Epstein’s former girlfriend, who is currently serving a 20-year sentence for her role in his sex trafficking network. The emails are part of a set of 23,000 documents provided by Epstein’s estate to the committee, as noted by Rep. Robert Garcia, a Democrat from California.
Sample Emails Released by the Committee
- In a 2011 email about Trump, Epstein wrote:
“I want you to realize that that dog that hasn’t barked is trump [sic]. [Victim] spent hours at my house with him ,, [sic] he has never once been mentioned.”
- Ghislaine Maxwell replied:
“I have been thinking about that … .”
- In an email to author Michael Wolff dated January 31, 2019, Epstein referred to Trump’s private club Mar-a-Lago, saying:
“Trump said he asked me to resign, never a member ever.”
