An application has been submitted seeking permission to establish a 20-pitch touring caravan site as part of a local Anglesey business's efforts to diversify and reduce reliance on fossil fuel sales.
Anglesey County Council planners will review a proposal to change the use of agricultural land at Bryn Hyfryd Farm near Valley. The application includes:
The proposed site is on open farmland adjacent to Bryn Hyfryd coal depot and yard, west of Valley near Holyhead. It occupies about 800 square meters within a larger field surrounding Looms Bros Coal yard. The access would be created from an existing minor lane connecting Valley and Llanfair-yn-Neubwll, near the A55 link road to Valley village.
The development has been proposed by Carol Williams and is represented by the agent Berllan Properties Ltd.
"The proposed development comprises the provision of a small seasonal touring site on farmland adjoining Bryn Hyfryd coal depot and yard at Valley."
This plan is part of a strategic move to shift away from fossil fuel sales toward sustainable business models.
