Elden Ring Nightreign, a co-op survival spinoff of FromSoftware's popular open-world single-player game, is receiving its first major DLC this year. Titled The Forsaken Hollows, the expansion will be released on December 4, 2025.
This DLC marks the first significant content update for Nightreign, following prior updates that improved gameplay tuning for both solo and two-player modes and introduced the punishing Deep of Night difficulty.
The DLC was initially hinted at in Kadokawa's earnings report, with expectations it might launch in early 2026. However, the official announcement commitments it for late 2025, offering hope to players frustrated by the previous lack of update information. Some Steam users have review-bombed Nightreign due to this uncertainty, but the news aims to reassure the community.
"The Forsaken Hollows will add two more character classes for players to choose from. The book-wielding Scholar is an arcane magic user who 'gains incredible advantages through battlefield observation.'"
FromSoft’s trademark dark and macabre atmosphere shines through the teaser trailer, promising a challenging and atmospheric experience.
The Forsaken Hollows DLC brings fresh classes, new bosses, and a mysterious region to Elden Ring Nightreign, marking a major content expansion that responds to player demand.
