Franklin & Marshall College canceled campus events this weekend due to a transformer malfunction that caused widespread power outages.
A transformer on Harrisburg Pike malfunctioned Saturday morning, disrupting power across the campus and nearby neighborhoods. All residence halls except Roschel College House are running on emergency generators.
Residents of Roschel College House have been relocated, with staff planning to inform students about when the building will reopen.
"We are pleased to report that significant progress has been made, and we remain confident that full power will be restored to campus later today," said Peter Durantine, director of media relations at Franklin & Marshall.
Repair crews are actively working with the goal of restoring power by evening.
