Rookie Beckett Sennecke recorded his first two-goal game, while Leo Carlsson scored two power-play goals, leading the Anaheim Ducks to a 4-1 victory over the Winnipeg Jets at Honda Center.
The Ducks extended their winning streak to seven games, their longest since the 2021-22 season when they won eight consecutively. They have now won nine of their last ten matches, including back-to-back wins against the 2025 Pacific Division champions and the previous year’s Presidents’ Trophy winners.
“I heard about the losing days of the past couple years from the older guys, and they’re pretty pumped right now,” said Sennecke.
During this hot streak, Anaheim has also defeated the reigning two-time Stanley Cup champions twice, a Western Conference finalist, and another playoff team from 2025. Next, they will face the Colorado Avalanche in Denver, a battle between the NHL’s two top teams by points percentage.
“It’ll be a good challenge for us. We knew that our schedule had a bunch of tough teams in a row here, and I think we’re proving why we’re an established team,” Sennecke added.
Leo Carlsson currently ranks second in league points, tied with Chicago’s Connor Bedard, the only player drafted ahead of him in 2023, trailing only Colorado’s Nathan MacKinnon.
Author’s summary: The Anaheim Ducks continue their dominant form with a seven-game winning streak, powered by standout performances from rookies Beckett Sennecke and Leo Carlsson, as they prepare for a key clash with the Colorado Avalanche.
