Toyota has officially revealed its long-awaited new HiLux, showcasing a bold redesign with major advancements in performance, comfort, and technology. The refreshed model features an upgraded interior, new multimedia systems, and enhanced safety technologies.
Alongside a broad selection of diesel variants, Toyota confirmed that the HiLux will, for the first time, include a battery-electric version aimed primarily at fleet operators. A hydrogen fuel cell (FCEV) model is also planned for release in 2028.
The new HiLux will debut in Australia in December 2025 and will offer 21 diesel versions across single, extra, and double cab options. Buyers can select between 4x2 or 4x4 drivetrains, with either manual or automatic transmissions. Variants will include WorkMate, SR, SR5, Rogue, and Rugged X grades.
The exterior styling, developed collaboratively by teams in Altona, Thailand, and Japan, follows the “Cyber Sumo” theme. It introduces sleek, narrow headlights, bold lines, and completely reworked front and rear sections.
The reimagined cabin features a flatter, three-tier dashboard design, improving forward visibility and lending the interior a modern, functional appearance geared toward driver comfort and productivity.
“The bold new design captures HiLux’s toughness and modern appeal while delivering genuine improvements in drivability and safety.”
