Alternative F1 commentary on offer

Alternative F1 Commentary Available to Australian Fans

For the first time outside the home race, Australian fans can enjoy an alternative to SkyF1 commentary tonight. F1TV coverage will be available in Australia, streamed by Foxtel and Kayo alongside the usual Sky Sports F1 broadcast, which has served as the world feed since 2012.

Key Commentators and Coverage Team

The F1TV broadcast features Alex Jacques as the lead commentator. Jacques has been the main voice for F2 and F3 races for the past ten years. His recent F1 commentary includes his celebrated call of Charles Leclerc’s 2024 Monaco Grand Prix win on Formula 1’s YouTube channel.

Joining Jacques is former F1 driver Jolyon Palmer, who left Renault in 2017. Palmer has since become a respected expert pundit for BBC Radio and F1TV. The pre- and post-race coverage also includes Laura Winter, Lawrence Barretto, and James Hinchcliffe.

Broadcast Schedule

The F1TV alternative feed will begin at 3:55 am AEDT, five minutes before lights out, and will continue for the rest of the season. It will return for the races in Las Vegas, Qatar, and Abu Dhabi.

Existing Sky Commentary

The familiar commentary by David Croft and Martin Brundle on Sky TV remains available for viewers who prefer the traditional broadcast.

"His passionate call of Charles Leclerc’s 2024 Monaco Grand Prix victory [is] often celebrated by fans."
