No 'Fight of the Night' bonus was awarded at UFC Vegas 111. Instead, the UFC handed out four 'Performance of the Night' bonuses, each valued at $50,000.
The event featured an exciting card with every main card fight ending in a finish. In the main event, Gabriel Bonfim earned a knockout victory over Randy Brown, though the stoppage was considered controversial and early by some.
Neither Padilla nor Medic received an extra payment after the event.
All winners scored highlight-reel knockouts except Zach Reese, who won by submission despite stepping in on four days' notice.
"My family was struggling. My mother is living in a trailer," said Chris Padilla after his win, highlighting his motivation for the bonus.
Despite strong performances, requested bonuses did not guarantee payouts, with UFC opting for multiple performance awards instead of a fight-centric bonus.
