A fire severely damaged the Miami-area home of Heat head coach Erik Spoelstra early Thursday morning, shortly after the team’s return from a four-game road trip.
According to reporters Milena Malaver, Carl Juste, and David Neal from the Miami Herald, a two-alarm fire broke out at Spoelstra’s multi-million-dollar Miami-Dade residence around the same time the team’s charter flight from Denver landed at 5 a.m. ET.
The property, which spans 43,000 square feet and includes a pool and tennis courts, was purchased for $6.6 million in 2023. Firefighters fought the blaze for more than four hours, but no injuries were reported.
