Allseas to Install New Export Pipeline in Gulf of America
Allseas has won a contract to install a deepwater export pipeline for Shell, aiming to greatly improve oil transport capacity, flexibility, and efficiency in the central Gulf of America, USA.
Project Details and Scope
- The contract was awarded by Shell Pipeline Company LP on behalf of Amberjack Pipeline Company LLC, a joint venture between Shell and Chevron.
- Allseas will handle engineering, procurement, and installation of the 150-kilometer, 24-inch Rome Pipeline.
- The pipeline will connect Shell’s Green Canyon 19 (GC-19) platform to the Louisiana coast.
Installation Plan
- The automatically positioned anchor barge Sandpiper will install the nearshore section in 2027.
- The dynamically positioned pipelay vessel Solitaire will manage the deepwater section in 2028.

Strategic Importance
Allseas noted that the Rome Pipeline is part of a larger effort to upgrade and expand Gulf of Mexico export infrastructure, building on previous projects like the Amberjack Debottleneck Project completed in 2016.
