The Las Vegas Raiders experienced another setback on Thursday night, losing 10–7 to the Denver Broncos as quarterback Geno Smith left the game with an injury.
Smith recorded 143 passing yards and one interception before going down early in the fourth quarter. The incident occurred when he tried to scramble past Denver linebacker Nik Bonitto, who made contact with Smith’s right knee. After taking a few uneasy steps, Smith collapsed and was then brought down by Malcolm Roach.
Kenny Pickett briefly replaced Smith, but the starting quarterback later returned before being listed as questionable with a left quadriceps injury. Alongside Smith’s troubles, guards Dylan Parham and Jackson Powers-Johnson also exited with ankle injuries. According to coach Pete Carroll, Powers-Johnson will miss additional time.
The Raiders’ offense managed only 188 total yards, leaving the team with a disappointing 2–7 record for the season.
“It was a tough night for us offensively. We just couldn’t find our rhythm,” said coach Pete Carroll.
A disastrous game left the Raiders struggling as multiple key players were injured and their offense produced one of the weakest showings of the season.
