Remembrance Day Parades 2025: Bus Service Changes on Sunday 9 November
Temporary route adjustments will affect some bus services on Remembrance Sunday, 9th November 2025. The listed parades are expected to impact services, though brief disruptions may occur elsewhere.
Two Minutes Silence Observance
At 11:00 AM on Sunday 9th and Tuesday 11th November, bus drivers will observe two minutes of silence. Where safety permits, drivers will park their buses and switch off their engines. The company invites all passengers to join in this national act of remembrance.
Free Travel for Military and Veterans
NCT offers free bus travel for all active personnel, cadets, and veterans from 8th to 11th November 2025 inclusive. Eligibility requires showing valid ID or traveling in uniform when boarding.
Road Closures and Route Diversions
- Nottingham Road, Church Drive, and Sir John Robinson Way will be closed from 09:00 to 12:00 on Sunday 9th November.
- Lilac 25 and Lime 58 services will be diverted during this period.
- The following stops will not be served due to diversions but alternate stops on the new route will be observed:
- Charles Street
- Sainsbury’s
- Portland Street
- Daybrook Square
- Thackeray’s Lane
- Calstock Road
Calverton Parade Impact
On Sunday 9th November, the Calverton parade will affect Sky Blue 61 service between 09:00 and 12:00. The stops not served during this time include:
- St Wilfrid’s Square
- St Wilfrid’s Church
- Oakland Grove
East Leake Road Closure
Main Street in East Leake will be closed on Sunday, 9th November from 10:30 to 11:45. During the closure, South Notts 1 buses will be diverted via Main Street, Castle Hill, and Loughborough Road.
