Jeremy Renner, the 54-year-old Marvel actor known for his role as Hawkeye, faces allegations of misconduct from filmmaker Yi Zhou. Zhou claims Renner sent her unsolicited explicit images starting in June 2024.
Details of the Allegations
According to Zhou, Renner sent "unsolicited pornographic images of himself" before she confronted him about the behavior. In retaliation, Renner allegedly threatened to have Zhou deported by reporting her to immigration authorities.
“It is with deep regret, sadness, and disappointment that I am compelled to share a truth I have been holding inside for too long,” Zhou stated. “Mr Renner first contacted me directly in June, sending personal and intimate photographs of himself, behavior that, according to public reports, he has exhibited before.”
Regarding the threats, Zhou wrote: “When I called him out privately about his past misconduct and asked him to behave properly, to respect me as a woman and as a filmmaker, he threatened to call immigration/ICE on me, an act that deeply shocked and frightened me.”
Zhou emphasized the emotional toll this has taken, saying no creative professional should face such pressure to safeguard their reputation and work.
