The wait for the first trailer of Avengers: Doomsday is nearly over. As Marvel’s Cinematic Universe launched Phase 6 this summer with The Fantastic Four: First Steps, the upcoming Avengers movies will conclude this phase by 2027.
Collider confirmed the Avengers: Doomsday trailer will debut in theaters before Avatar: Fire and Ash on December 19, 2025. Principal photography for this Phase 6 film wrapped on September 19, 2025, with Anthony and Joe Russo directing the big team-up.
This ensemble film marks Robert Downey Jr.'s return to the MCU timeline, portraying the iconic Victor von Doom, aka Doom. Downey Jr. is also set to play the villain in Avengers: Secret Wars, scheduled for 2027 but has not yet begun filming.
The cast was first revealed during a surprise Marvel Studios live stream, showcasing returning actors. Notably, multiple X-Men stars from the Fox-Marvel era are set to reappear:
