Jalen Green, acquired by the Phoenix Suns in the Kevin Durant trade, is set to make his season debut after missing the preseason and early regular season games due to a right hamstring strain.
Green, a 23-year-old guard who averaged 20.1 points per game during his four years with the Houston Rockets, joined the Suns as part of the 2025 offseason blockbuster trade that sent future Hall of Famer Kevin Durant to Houston. Alongside Green, Phoenix also acquired Dillon Brooks and the No. 10 overall pick in the 2025 draft, used to select Khaman Maluach.
Despite being new to Phoenix and not having played a game in a Suns uniform until now, Green expressed confidence about his fit with the team. He highlighted the quick bond he developed with teammates and staff.
“Coming here, I got to know (the team), and I picked up with everybody very fast,” Green said. “Everyone is cool and has the same goals and mentality, so that makes it easy when you’re chasing that same goal with somebody. … From the coaching staff, to the players, to the front office, everyone is just great. The relationships molded fast."
Green’s return is expected to add strength to the Suns’ backcourt as they continue their campaign in the NBA season.
