Elder Gérald Caussé became the newest member of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on Thursday, November 6, 2025. He was ordained the same day by President Dallin H. Oaks along with the First Presidency and the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles.
“I’ve always had a testimony of Jesus Christ,” Elder Caussé said. “He’s always been in the center of my life. And I know He’s our Savior and Redeemer. What a wonderful thing it is to be a witness of Christ. That’s the best responsibility or stewardship we might have in our lives.”
Apostles serve as special witnesses of Christ’s name worldwide and have important administrative duties. They oversee the Church’s global operation and development. The Quorum of the Twelve Apostles is the Church’s second-highest governing body, serving under the First Presidency, which consists of the Church President and his two counselors.
Elder Caussé’s calling highlights his longstanding devotion to Christ and his unique international background within Church leadership.
