Methodist Children's Hospital became extra festive this Halloween as Julian Champagnie, forward for the San Antonio Spurs, visited dressed as Scooby-Doo. He surprised young patients and staff, bringing smiles and plenty of treats.
Each year, the hospital transforms into a spirited celebration. Every unit picks a unique theme, decorates elaborately, and staff members wear costumes to match. This tradition creates a joyful atmosphere for children and their families.
Instead of children going door-to-door for candy, hospital leaders take on the role of trick-or-treaters, delivering treats room-to-room. This fun twist adds an extra layer of excitement for patients.
The visit was part of the Spurs’ community outreach initiative, focused on connecting meaningfully with local families and lifting spirits beyond the basketball court.
“I didn’t make a wish, but it felt like one. It was inspirational to see my actual walking dream.” – Jamal Magee, patient at Methodist Children’s Hospital
Julian Champagnie's Halloween visit highlights the Spurs' commitment to community joy and spirit, bringing hope and happiness to children during a special celebration.
