Star Trek fans finally get a major LEGO release this month with the Black Friday debut of the LEGO Icons 10356 U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701-D, inspired by Star Trek: The Next Generation. This impressive 3,600-piece set was designed by Hans B. Schlömer, known for his work on large-scale ships including the Millennium Falcon and Endeavor.
The set's graphic design was created by Crystal Marie Fontan, who skillfully captures the essence of the crew through nine included minifigures. The large display model includes a single play feature: a removable saucer section.
When the set goes on sale on Black Friday, November 28, it includes a Gift With Purchase: the Shuttlepod Onizuka and an exclusive minifigure of Ensign Ro. Early photos leaked months ago, but they didn't fully represent the set's impressive scale, which is better appreciated in official lifestyle images.
Collectors will be excited to see Star Trek minifigures for the first time in LEGO form, featuring new molds for characters like Worf and Guinan's headpieces.
