On October 29, the Martin Scorsese Virtual Production Center at NYU Tisch welcomed Martin Scorsese and his daughter, Francesca Scorsese, for a special event celebrating a new collaboration with Lavazza to open a café inside the Center at Industry City.
The gathering included program alumni, current students, and invited guests who joined to honor Lavazza’s support of the new initiative. Tisch Dean’s Council member Martin Scorsese (’64, ’68, Hon. ’92) attended alongside Francesca Scorsese (’23, BFA, Kanbar Institute of Film & TV).
Scorsese reflected on how coffee shops shaped his youth and career, calling them places “where genuine moments of artistic collaboration and creativity happen.”
Francesca shared a heartwarming moment with her father in the new café, later posting about it on her Instagram.
The Martin Scorsese Center partnered with Lavazza to launch a café that celebrates community, creativity, and the artistic heritage of the filmmaker’s legacy.
