Brandel Chamblee expressed strong dissatisfaction with a rule change introduced by the PGA Tour for the 2026 season. Known for openly sharing his views on golf developments, especially those involving the PGA Tour and LIV Golf, Chamblee didn't hold back his disapproval this time.
While Chamblee is a vocal critic of LIV Golf, he has also openly criticized the PGA Tour when he feels it's necessary. His concern follows statements from PGA Tour CEO Brian Rolapp about substantial upcoming changes. Rolapp's plans to reduce tournament numbers and field sizes have drawn criticism from various quarters.
Despite his current opposition, Chamblee has previously praised Rolapp’s leadership. However, regarding the recent changes, he feels Rolapp is making a critical error.
As a former professional golfer, Chamblee strongly supports the PGA Tour, particularly valuing its merit-based system. He fears the new changes may undermine this principle as the Tour moves forward into 2026.
“I don't agree with it at all,” Chamblee said about the upcoming PGA Tour rule change on his Favorite Chamblee Podcast.
Chamblee’s critique highlights concerns that PGA Tour changes may compromise the meritocratic spirit that has long defined the competition.
