The Toronto Blue Jays have opened as -230 favourites on FanDuel to bring back Bo Bichette, a figure that translates to roughly 69.7% implied probability. After a push to Game 7 of the World Series, the club now turns its attention to the future of its star shortstop.
It has been seven years since Bichette debuted for Toronto, evolving into one of Major League Baseball’s most productive hitters at his position. Earlier this year, teammate Vladimir Guerrero Jr. signed a record-setting 14-year, $500 million deal to remain with the Blue Jays, setting the stage for Bichette’s own contract talks.
“I’ve said I want to be here from the beginning,”
Bichette remarked on Saturday night after the team's Game 7 loss.
Despite missing the final month of the regular season with a left knee injury, Bichette delivered one of his best campaigns. He posted a .311 batting average, with a .357 on-base and .483 slugging percentage, tallying 18 home runs and 94 RBIs in 139 games. Returning for the World Series, he hit .348 with six RBIs over seven games.
Bichette remains a central figure for Toronto as the Blue Jays enter the off-season favored to keep their star shortstop amid strong competition from the Yankees and Braves.
