Actress and comedian Tiffany Haddish shared new insights about the long-anticipated sequel to her hit film Girls Trip during an exclusive interview with Us Weekly.
“We had a meeting last week … I’m telling it,” Haddish revealed. “They were saying we’re gonna start shooting probably next year.”
The 45-year-old star added that filming may begin in the spring of 2026, aiming to wrap before summer. She enthusiastically noted:
“She ready. I think it’s gonna be great. It’s going to be so much fun. Me and the girls were all talking. It was so funny, it was so good.”
Haddish originally starred in the 2017 comedy alongside Regina Hall, Jada Pinkett Smith, and Queen Latifah. The film follows four friends reconnecting through an adventurous getaway to New Orleans for the Essence Music Festival, marking a major turning point in Haddish’s career and propelling her into stardom.
Earlier this year, producer Will Packer confirmed that a second film is officially in the works.
“We actually are looking at doing an exotic locale — I can’t reveal it right now, but I do have a script for the first time,” Packer said, adding that they may include some new characters.
Tiffany Haddish and producer Will Packer confirm that Girls Trip 2 is moving forward, with filming expected in 2026 and plans for an exciting new setting.
