The fourth T20I between India and Australia was played at Carrara Oval, Gold Coast, where India secured a 48-run victory by bowling out Australia for 119 while defending a target of 168.
Australia started their chase well with Mitchell Marsh and Matthew Short applying pressure with the new ball. However, India regained control in the middle overs through disciplined bowling, especially by the spin trio Axar Patel, Varun Chakravarthy, and Washington Sundar.
Washington Sundar was the standout bowler, taking 3 wickets for just 3 runs, while Axar Patel contributed with 2 crucial wickets. Jasprit Bumrah, despite a less impactful day, managed to find rhythm towards the end, dismissing Ben Dwarshuis and tightening India's grip.
India posted a competitive total of 167/8, led by Shubman Gill, who top-scored with 46 runs. India captain Suryakumar Yadav added a quick 20 runs off 10 balls, contributing to the team's momentum.
"India win and go 2–1 up in the series, with the spin combination of Axar, Varun and Washington proving to be the defining factor. India have the momentum and cannot lose the series from here."
With this victory, India continues their dominant form in the shortest format, positioning themselves strongly in the series.
