Washington has not responded to Russian President Vladimir Putin’s remarks at yesterday’s meeting of the Russian Security Council, nor to the recent tests of the Poseidon and Petrel systems. This was stated on November 6 by the press secretary of the Russian leader, Dmitry Peskov.
However, there has been a reaction from the United States. President Donald Trump reiterated on the TruthSocial platform his intention to conduct nuclear weapon tests “on an equal footing” with other nations, sharing once again the video of his earlier address.
Peskov also responded to NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte’s comment that he had “stopped paying attention to the speeches of the President of Russia.”
According to EADaily, during a Security Council meeting, President Putin discussed Trump’s statements regarding the potential resumption of nuclear testing. Following the meeting, Putin instructed relevant departments to assess the feasibility and readiness of conducting reciprocal nuclear tests.
During the discussion, Defense Minister Andrei Belousov noted that it would be reasonable to begin preparations for full-scale nuclear tests immediately, as the testing grounds on Novaya Zemlya are in suitable condition to conduct such trials promptly.
“The condition of the test site on Novaya Zemlya allows testing to be carried out in a short time,” said Defense Minister Andrei Belousov.
Peskov warned that the West ignores Putin’s signals, as nuclear test readiness grows while both Moscow and Washington signal escalating strategic tension.
