This Remembrance Day, we take a moment to pay tribute to all who have served and sacrificed in past and ongoing conflicts. Their devotion continues to uphold the freedom we enjoy today.
The day also serves as an opportunity to stand in solidarity with members of the Armed Forces community—both serving and retired—and with their families.
Many places of worship across Manchester will hold a two-minute silence to mark the occasion. On campus, The Holy Name Church will observe this silence on 9 November at 11:00 a.m. Those wishing to join are encouraged to confirm details with their local places of worship.
The North West Officer Training Corps, representatives from the University of Manchester, Multifaith Chaplains, and members of both the university community and the public will come together in the John Owen’s Quad.
“We ask everyone wishing to attend the service to arrive before 10:45 a.m. A two-minute silence will commence at 11:00 a.m.”
