Families with young children are invited to take part in a series of creative and commemorative activities at Haringey’s libraries to mark Remembrance Day on Tuesday, 11 November 2025.
On Remembrance Day, local libraries will host poppy-making sessions for children aged three and older:
After completing their craft, participants can display their handmade poppies on Remembrance Day boards at the Hornsey or Marcus Garvey libraries.
You can also join a “Field of Poppies” session at Stroud Green and Harringay Library on Monday, 17 November 2025, from 3:30pm to 4:30pm. This activity is ideal for children aged five and up.
Throughout November, Haringey libraries will host various creative sessions and activities:
Comic Art Masterclasses: Artist Kevin F. Sutherland, known for his work with Beano and Marvel, will hold two sessions at Wood Green Library on Saturday, 22 November 2025 (10:30am–12:30pm and 2pm–4pm). Participants will create their own comic and caricature in just two hours.
Chess Clubs: All skill levels are welcome to enjoy chess sessions across different libraries:
