Sombre Camilla lays down wooden cross ahead of Remembrance Day
The Queen honoured fallen soldiers in a moving ceremony at Westminster Abbey's Field of Remembrance. Each year, St Margaret's Church lawn hosts 250 plots commemorating those who sacrificed their lives in the armed forces.
The event is organised by the Poppy Factory, where Her Majesty, 78, serves as patron. King Charles' wife appeared solemn in a blue Fiona Clare dress and red beret, reflecting the uniform of The Royal Lancers, of which she is Colonel-in-Chief.

During the service, she laid a wooden remembrance cross, continuing a tradition for visitors before Armistice Day on 11 November. Attendees can purchase their own crosses, available in various shapes for different religions.
Camilla spoke with veterans, active service members, and other attendees, and warmly interacted with a dog brought to the event.
