The eastbound lanes of SR-16 on the Tacoma Narrows span closed late Saturday night. Vehicles came to a halt after an emergency alert went out. Deputies guided drivers on each end of the bridge. Workers began inspecting the structure right away. Authorities have not said why they closed it yet. Crews have not reported when the lanes will reopen.
