Qantas paid £270 million each for six Airbus A350 long haul jets. The order kicks off direct services from Sydney to London and New York in 2026. The first aircraft reaches service by mid 2026. Qantas will then retire older planes ahead of putting the new jets into service. Airlines from Singapore, Dubai and Doha already fly these paths direct this year.
