Penarth appeared at a £20 million sheltered homes programme to deliver a new extra-care facility for older people, featuring 70 affordable apartments and on-site care. Construction set to start within the summer of 2024 and planned to run for about two years. The scheme is a joint effort by Vale of Glamorgan Council and Wales & West Housing, with land leased to WWH and funding from the Housing with Care Fund and Welsh Government's Social Housing Grant.
