Jai Erlom Semenyo, a 22-year-old defender born in England and holding Ghanaian citizenship, has joined FC Lorient B on a one-year deal aimed at regaining match fitness. The right-back, who can operate on either flank, signed with Lorient in November 2025 and is due to stay with the reserve squad through June 30, 2026. Semenyo previously trained with Bournemouth’s reserve team after a period without a club, and he has roots in Cardiff City’s youth system where his development began. He comes from a footballing family; his older brother is Ghana international Antoine Semenyo, and their father, Larry Semenyo, was also a player. Semenyo’s move to Lorient marks a focused step to resume competitive action in France’s Championnat National 2.
